Asaram Bapu gets eviction order
News Desk - May 5, 2009 JAI BIHAR
PATNA - The additional district court on Monday ordered delivery of possession of Bhikhan Das Thakurbari to Bihar State Board of Religious Trusts (BSBRT).
With this order, the claim of Asaram Bapu on this place which includes 13.5 katthas of land, has been rejected.
Hailing the decision, chairman of the BSBRT, Acharya Kishore Kunal said,”It is a historic victory in that it has resulted in the liberation of the religious place which was under illegal occupation of Asaram Bapu for years.”
Kunal said 50 flood-affected children, who have been kept at relief camps in Madhepura by the religious board, would be brought here on Tuesday and lodged in the residential school to be opened on the same campus. Also, he said, a detection camp of the Mahavir Cancer Hospital would be opened there.
He further said executive magistrate Vivek, who was involved in this operation to free the land, has now cleared the civil services exam conducted by the UPSC and ranked 32nd in the merit list.
“I congratulated him saying the Almighty brought success to you for taking up a noble cause,” said an elated Kunal who himself is a retired IPS officer.
Kunal said the action against Bapu is part of a drive launched by the BSBRT to free properties of mutts, temples and trusts in Bihar from illegal occupation.
